Introduction

I have started working as a Ph.D. student in the BDA group in September 2010. Following four years of intensive chemical engineering education, I got my B.Sc. degree from Bogazici University, Istanbul in 2006. My M.Sc. studies at the same department gave me the opportunity to orient my interest to a very exciting field: Systems Biology. Deeply impressed by the rapid increase in the amount of biological data being generated, I was determined to improve my data analysis skills further. Towards this aim, I have moved to Amsterdam to work with this distinguished group. In my project, I will be working on developing methods for incorporation of prior knowledge, in the analysis of metabolomics data. By this approach, the analysis would be directed in the direction of the prior information at hand, improving the biological relevance of the obtained models.
